LTS's lab-based drug testing services are used by a variety of individuals and organizations, including businesses, schools, and government agencies. LTS's lab-based drug testing services can be used for a variety of purposes, including pre-employment testing, random testing, and post-accident testing.

If any findings are detected, lab-based tests may experience a time extension of 5 more business days.

Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) are two of the most common analytical techniques used in laboratories to identify and quantify compounds in a sample.

The general process for LC-MS and GC-MS analysis is as follows:

  1. Sample preparation

  2. Separation

  3. Ionization

  4. Detection

  5. Quantification

LC-MS and GC-MS are used in a variety of fields, including environmental science, food science, clinical chemistry, and forensics.

The amount of time it takes for drug test results to be available when sent to a lab can vary depending on a number of factors, including:

  • The type of drug test being performed (urine, hair, blood, etc.)

  • The volume of samples being processed by the lab

  • The lab's workload and staffing levels

  • The time of day the sample is received by the lab

  • The availability of shipping services

In general, however, most drug test results are available within 24-48 hours of being received by the lab. Some labs may be able to provide results more quickly, while others may take longer.
